Zouzou

Self-taught artist ZOUZOU is specialized in the original creation of bottle gourds. She discovered this plant whilst travelling in Antilles. The love affair started then! After several tries with plastic, she discovered an innovative form of expression. After meticulously selecting the fruit, ZOUZOU sands it down the entirely and creates varied and inspired decorations using her artistic talent. She gives a new identity to its sensuous shape, inspired by her memories of her extensive travels.

She incorporates the themes of Buddha, chakras and India into her work, plus masks from many different ethnic cultures in Africa, China (Beijing Opera) and from Islands (Guadeloupe, Canaries, etc….....). Her work is synonymous with pleasure; each of her bottle gourds is full of inventiveness and emotional beauty.
