Philippe Berthot
Nice
Born in Nantes in 1966, Philippe BERTHOT has always been passionate about art, but he waited until he was 30 to launch himself as a self-taught artist when he painted his first canvases.
Using diverse materials such as canvas, cardboard and wood, his style is colorful and playful with prevailing shapes. He was strongly encouraged by what is commonly referred to as ‘the art world'. He functions according to his emotions, with a penchant for communicating and sharing. He expresses himself fully and blossoms through his art.
From his first exhibitions in Saint Barth in the Caribbean he soon attracted the interest of art collectors, critics and art galleries. This is how he met a patron who took him to Montreal, where one of his paintings remains in the Contemporary Art Museum. Now Philippe BERTHOT creates his paintings in Nice, a place that he very much appreciates.
“My painting opens a widow to colors and shapes, bringing you to experience emotions that you can share..."
