Grasse
I spent 21 years of my life in the social sector, working as a paediatric nurse.
It seems to me that the time has come for me to realise my ambitions as an artist.
After various experiences, clay modeling seemed to suit me the best. I studied ‘Fire Arts’ at Vallauris, on the Côte d’Azur, finishing with a 2.1 degree in 2005. I set myself up in a house in Grasse, and I experienced a very real communication with the earth – more specifically the ‘RAKU’ method, an ancient method of glazing of Korean origin.
An intimate experience, I sculpt my little women with elegance and sincerity. Flirtatious, mischievous, rebellious, bright, melancholic, dreamers, these women inspire me. Whether they are anonymous or named, it’s in the moment that I am inspired to create them with my own hands that they become alive. All unique, they each have a story. At other times, I create totems, and allow myself to be inspired by everyday encounters.
Life is inspiring, you just have to look around you.
